May is National Foster Care Month

Every child deserves to grow up in a supportive, loving home where they can
thrive and prosper.

During this National Foster Care Month, we share our gratitude for those who support youth and families by being a resource to children in need and supporting birth parents so that they may safely reunite with their families whenever possible. It is also an opportunity for us to celebrate the foster families who are supporting children by opening their homes and sharing their love. National Foster Care Month is also an opportunity to celebrate foster youth and all of their accomplishments, and to celebrate and encourage the many biological parents who are working hard to safely reunite with their children.

CASA Connection shares our gratitude and support for foster families who share their homes and love with the children we advocate for in Platte and Colfax counties in Nebraska.

On any given day a child in foster care may have experienced, physical, psychological and/or emotional trauma, only to endure long periods of uncertainty in the system as they wait to go home, be adopted or simply see what happens next.

CASA volunteers are still needed now more than ever.

CASA volunteers play a critical role in the lives of children and young people involved in foster care. When CASA volunteers are appointed by judges, they get to know the child and talk to family members and other adults in the child’s life to find out what they need to heal and thrive.  This is why at CASA Connection we believe every foster child deserves a CASA volunteer. Our volunteers have huge hearts and a passion for advocating and supporting children who would have no voice in what happens to them. CASA volunteers really do make a huge difference in the lives of the children they speak up for.

If you feel that you could be someone who could speak up for child who needs someone to be in their corner giving them a voice, please contact us.
